Privacy Policy
1. Who we are
SWARTER is operated by Swarter SP LLC - FZ, M1 Floor, Twin Towers, Fujairah, United Arab Emirates. Privacy questions and requests: support@swarter.com. This notice relates to the SWARTER app and website.
2. Information collected
Depending on use, we collect email address and verification status, name, declared age, mobile number, city and area, profile photo, items listed, descriptions, images, barter offers, acceptance and status records, direct messages, reports and supporting material. The service may also collect basic technical information, device identifiers, app diagnostics, push notification tokens and usage information through app infrastructure or analytics tools.
3. Permissions and location
The app may request access to camera, photos and notifications to support item listings and communication. Location use is limited to city and area information rather than continuous precise GPS tracking.
4. Why we use the data
We process information to create and secure accounts, verify email, publish and moderate item listings, enable chats and barter offers, maintain records of accepted swaps, receive complaints, investigate apparent breaches, prevent fraud, provide support, operate and improve the app and meet applicable legal duties. Where consent is required for a specific operation, it will be requested separately.
5. Chats and staff access
Messages are stored on the server. Communications are protected in transit using HTTPS/TLS, but chats are not end-to-end encrypted; authorized administrators may access conversations for operational, support and safety purposes. Users should not assume chat contents are visible only to their counterparty.
6. Vendors and international transfers
Data is hosted using Hostinger VPS and MySQL and the app uses Firebase and analytics-related tools. Such companies may process data as service providers even though SWARTER does not sell user data. These providers may process data as needed to deliver hosting, analytics and technical support services.
7. Sharing and disclosure
Listing details and certain profile information are visible to other users. Chat recipients see messages and contact details users choose to share. We may disclose information to infrastructure and analytics providers, authorized support personnel and competent UAE authorities where legally required or permitted. No general sale of personal information is intended.
8. Retention and deletion
While an account is active, listing, conversation and barter records may be retained for platform operations. On account deletion, SWARTER retains relevant historical chats and barter records for up to six months for safety and fraud prevention, then deletes or de-identifies them subject to lawful exceptions. Barter history may remain visible to the other participant in a privacy-limited form.
9. Your rights
Subject to applicable UAE law, users may request access to information, correction of inaccurate data, deletion, and other rights that apply. Contact support@swarter.com and provide information sufficient to verify the request. Users may also initiate account deletion in the app. Requests will be reviewed by the support team under an appropriate operational procedure.
10. Security
We use HTTPS/TLS in transit and administrative security measures. No system can guarantee complete security. Because chat messages are not end-to-end encrypted, do not share sensitive passwords or confidential documents within chats.
11. Age, geography and updates
SWARTER is intended for persons aged 18+ in the United Arab Emirates. We may update this notice and provide appropriate notice of material changes when required. Effective date: 9 October 2026.
